Eligibility / How it works

Ranking participation is open to all eligible youth tournaments. The Official Bowling Rankings began with the 2010 Junior Gold Championships.

Objective

BowlingLadder.com is a ranking system designed to integrate all of the nation's bowling mini tours, independent tournaments, and national scale tournaments, as a fair and equitable way to compare talent across the nation.

The objective of this site is to promote the sport of competitive bowling, encourage discussion, and increase participation.

Idea

The idea behind the Official Bowling Rankings first came about during the early junior bowling career of founder Ricky Brown. While living in Southern California, he bowled in three separate junior tours known as the Junior Amatuer Tour (JAT), the Junior Scratch Tour (JST), and the Junior Bowlers Tour (JBT). "Each of these tours had their own season points, but I always thought it would be neat if there were a way to compare bowlers between all three." Thus, the idea was born, and construction of the ranking system began in 2008 as a side project while away at school. After completing testing for a season with the South-East Scholarship Tour in Florida, the system was finally ready for launch by the 2010 Junior Gold Championships and is now known as the Official Bowling Rankings as hosted on BowlingLadder.com
